It looks like Indian players are facing the wrath of the team-management after the heavy drubbing at the hands of England in the second England vs India Test.

For the fourth innings in a row, the batsmen faltered as England thrashed India by an innings and 59 runs. The hosts now lead the five-match series two nil. Unlike the first Test at Edgbaston, the bowlers also failed to make an impression. As a result, England thoroughly dominated the proceedings at Lord’s.

Very few would have predicted that the game would end inside four days after the first day was washed out and the game was marred by several other rain-interruptions. However, the Indian team came up with a shambolic performance to lose the game inside four days.

On Sunday, they lost the second Test by an innings and 59 runs. Batsmen faring poorly in swinging conditions was once again the  biggest reason behind another loss in an overseas Test.

In the first innings, India were all out for just 107 with James Anderson taking 5 for 20. In reply, England scored a mammoth 396 for 7 to put the game beyond India’s reach. And the visitors did little to challenge England.

Trailing by a huge 289 runs, draw was the only option for India. However, it took England less than two sessions to bundle up the world number one Test side. India never looked in contention to save the game and were all out for just 130.

India have already lost an overseas Test series this year, losing 2-1 in South Africa. Until and unless, the players improve by leaps and bounds, the world number one Test side looks set to lose the ongoing series too.

And it looks like the team-management did not wait long to vent its frustration on the players after the defeat at Lord’s. According to Aaj Tak journalist Vikrant Gupta, the door of the Indian dressing room was shut just a couple of minutes after the game ended. Gupta also showed a picture on his phone to back his claim.

As of now, there has been no report on it. But it is very much likely that the captain and the coaches could have given the players a dressing down after the heavy drubbing.

Here is the video where Gupta reveals the incident (Watch from minute 11):
