Team India got off to a flier, as they routed an inform England team by eight wickets in the first of three-match T20I series on July 3 at the Old Trafford.

While Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball, it was KL Rahul who turned the tables with the bat. England managed a to post a mere 169 runs after a blistering start, courtesy Kuldeep Yadav’s fifer. He bagged three wickets in an over to halt the English innings.

Umesh Yadav also chipped in with useful contributions while the chinaman returned with five for 24 in his four. Furthermore, he became the first left-arm unorthodox spinner to claim five wickets in a T20I game.

Meanwhile, in reply, Rohit Sharma got India off to a flier despite losing Shikhar Dhawan at the other end. Since then, it was a one-man show from KL Rahul who single-handedly took the game away from the Eoin Morgan-led side.

The batsman from Karnataka brought his second T20I century in just 54 balls to take his team home with ten balls to spare. India skipper Virat Kohli also came handy with a useful contribution of 20 runs.

SHIKHAR DHAWAN (2/10)

Shikhar Dhawan failed to get going in the first game, as David Willey cleaned him up in the first over of the chase. Dhawan departed scoring only four runs with the help of a lone boundary. However, he will be desperate to score runs in the upcoming fixtures.

ROHIT SHARMA (4.5/10)

Rohit Sharma gave India a good start with 32 runs to lay a platform for the batsmen to come. His form will be crucial for the visitors on this long tour. His knock included three boundaries and one towering six.

KL RAHUL (10/10)

Kl Rahul has been in superlative form, as he carried his IPL form to the international arena. He scored an eye-pleasing hundred to take his home through in the first T20I at Old Trafford.

Rahul remained unbeaten 101 runs from 54 balls including ten boundaries and five sixes.

VIRAT KOHLI (4/10)

Virat Kohli played a second hand, as Rahul smashed the ball all over the park. Kohli remained unbeaten on 20 runs, as India went over the rope.

Moreover, Kohi also crossed 2000 runs in T20I cricket to become the fourth batsmen to do so.

SURESH RAINA (0/10)

Suresh Raina had no role to play in the first of the three-match T20I series. However, he will look to contribute with the bat when an opportunity comes his way.

Although Dhoni didn’t get the opportunity to bat, he was spot on behind the stumps. He affected two stumpings in the game to have the most no. of stumpings in T20I cricket.

Meanwhile, Dhoni will be keen to look to get some runs under his belt whenever he gets an opportunity.

HARDIK PANDYA (4/10)

Hardik Pandya was a bit wayward giving away 33 runs in full quota. However, he picked the essential wicket of Moeen Ali to put the final nail in England’s coffin.

However, he will look to put a better performance in the upcoming games.

BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR (3/10)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a rare off day in business going away for plenty. He looked clueless against the likes of Roy and Jos Buttler.

However, Kumar is capable of fighting back and the management will want him to bring his A game to the front.

KULDEEP YADAV (10/10)

Kuldeep Yadav had a dream debut in England, as he single-handedly rattled the heavyweight English line-up. He removed three batsmen in a single over to halt their easy run flow.

The young wrist spinner returned with five for 24 and will be keen to continue with his performance in this tour.

Umesh Yadav is making his comeback to the T20I cricket picking early wickets regularly. He was brilliant with the new ball and removed the dangerous looking Jason Roy.

Furthermore, he came back later to remove Chris Jordan to return with two for 19 in his four overs.

YUZVENDRA CHAHAL (4/10)

Yuzvendra Chahal didn’t have a great start to the tour of England. He gave away 34 runs in his quota of four overs. However, he will like to come back stronger in the next game.
