Team India likely to be happier of the two teams following the toss of the second of the five-match Test against England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Friday (August 10).

Meanwhile, the game, at last, got rolling after a complete washout on day one of the Test. England skipper Joe Root won the toss and elected to field considering the overcast conditions in a bid to make most out of it.

England bowlers reacted immediately squaring up Murali Vijay in the first over itself. James Anderson once again proved why he is the dangerous component of swing bowling. After pitching a few balls outside off.

It was a good length delivery angled to the batsman which cut Vijay into two halves castling his timber. Thus England got the perfect start they hoped for early on. However, India’s hopes now rely on Cheteshwar Pujara, who comes back to the playing XI.

On that note, India made two changes going into this game. Virat Kohli swapped Yadavs with Umesh sitting out and Kuldeep coming in. Furthermore, they have brought in Pujara in place of incumbent Test opener Shikhar Dhawan.

England, on the other hand, had to make a forced change. Veteran all-rounder Chris Woakes comes in place of Ben Stokes after a long injury lay off.

Furthermore, the 20-year-old Ollie Pope comes to side in place of Dawid Malan, who was going through a lean patch.

India ahead of England by statistics:

Despite having a poor start with 11 for two after losing the toss India will be happy going by the statistics. The last time a team won bowling first was way back in 2012 when the home side clashed against Windies.

Moreover, out of the last ten outings, the team bowling first have managed to win only once with seven losses.  The last time England and India met here in 2014, the hosts lost the match after opting to bowl first.
