21-year-old Windies cricketer Oshane Thomas has played just 8 international games. But the medium-fast pacer has already made a name for himself. Thomas made his ODI debut against India in Guwahati and went on to become a vital cog in the side. His accuracy and pace makes him a real deal in the IPL circuit. There were reports of numerous franchises keeping an eye on the young pacer.

Oshane Thomas gets snapped by the Royals

He has been snapped by the Rajasthan Royals for an impressive amount of INR 1.1 Crore. When Thomas came into the auction, the Royals still needed eight players to fill in the pack. They went out for him and eventually roped him in. He was picked by Jamaica Tallawahs while he was as young as 19. Chris Gayle was mighty pleased with his action and raw pace and hence took him in his side in the CPL.

A CPL Star

He is currently the youngest fast bowler in the Windies squad. He finished the CPL as the highest wicket-taker this year and is at the second spot in the overall rank. Though the bouncer is very much among his ammunition, Thomas feels it is not the delivery to scare the batters. “Bowling the short ball is the easiest to do for a fast bowler,” Thomas had said. “But I don’t use my bumper to scare batsmen, I only use it to get batsmen out.”

Rajasthan Royals also bought Jaydev Unadkat for a whooping INR 8.4 Crores. He is currently the joint costliest player along with Varun Chakaravarthy, who has been picked by Kings XI Punjab. The Royals now carry some serious pacer heading to the 2019 IPL. The internet was full of praise and feels the Windies pacer deserves the sum for the kind of talent he posses.
