IPL 2019: Watch - Virat Kohli Celebrates his Ninth Toss Loss in Style

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli is not having the rub of the green on his side. Kohli lost his ninth toss of the season and had a wry smile on his face at the toss time. Kohli once again called the wrong side of the coin and as soon as he lost the toss, he signalled to the dugout with a fist pump that he has lost the toss for the ninth time.

In fact, the toss played a key role according to Virat Kohli in the outcome of the match. Delhi Capitals won the 46th match of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore by 16 runs. Thus, the Delhi Capitals have confirmed their playoff berth in the ongoing season.

RCB are out.

Kohli could only score 23 runs after Delhi Capitals posted an above par score of 187 runs on the board. It was always going to be an uphill task for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as AB de Villiers could also get only 17 runs under his bag.

Kohli said in the post-match presentation that the toss played a key role in the game. The RCB captain said, “It was a very important one (toss) especially with how the wicket played. We showed a lot of character even after losing the toss, but it got away a little bit in the end. We were thinking 160-165 but 185 on that sort of a pitch, with three spinners, was always going to be tough”.

Consequently, Royal Challengers Bangalore have been knocked out of the tournament as this was their eighth loss of the season. RCB didn’t get off to an ideal start in the season as they lost their first six matches of the edition. Hence, they were always rowing upstream and had to win all their matches to keep their playoff hopes alive.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Rajasthan Royals at their own backyard of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on 30th April.
