Mithali Raj Shuts Down A Fan Who Criticised Her Language Preference

Of late, Social Media has become a tough place to leave for celebrities. Despite having the right intentions, someone or the other, who made trolling his job, come up with a distasteful tweet to the celebrity to get noticed for a moment. However, just like any other, Mithali Raj came up with a brilliant reply to shut the fan.

It was when Sachin Tendulkar applauded the effort put in Mithali Raj for the past 20 years and for the series victory. Sachin Tendulkar gave high praises for the captaincy of Mithali Raj and all the young women, who made things fall in place to bag the series against South Africa women.

I am very proud Indian – Mithali Raj

In reply, Mithali Raj thanked the legendary cricketer by calling him a champion player. Further, Mithali added how much she always inspired by Sachin Tendulkar, who served the country despite all the odds against him. Meanwhile, one of the fans tried to criticise her for her language preference.

“She doesn’t know Tamil. She will speak in eng, Telugu, Hindi”, tweeted the fan over Mithali’s preference of language, especially when it comes to speaking to the media before or after the cricket matches.

“Tamil is my mother tongue.. I speak Tamil well .. I am proud to live in Tamil Nadu but above it all I am very proud Indian! Also my dear sugu , you constant criticism on each and every post of mine , your day to day advice on how and what should I do is exactly what keeps me going,” Mithali tweeted in response to the criticism from the fan.

In the series, Mithali Raj scored 88 runs in three innings at a brilliant average of 44 to help India dominate the series the ODI series. The series was a memorable one for Mithali as she became the first woman cricketer to play ODIs over a span of 20 years.

The 3-0 series triumph also resulted in Mithali bagging her 100th win as the captain of the Indian team. She is only the first Indian women’s team skipper to have done so and the second internationally.
