MS Dhoni 'The Cobra' Goes For Squeeze When Opponents Make Mistake: Dean Jones

MS Dhoni is highly regarded for his tactical moves as a captain and ability to read the game. It is one the qualities which stood out for him in his international career. Former Australia cricketer Dean Jones was in all praise for MS Dhoni and said he is quite cool as a captain and knows when to change the game.
Jones also analysed that Dhoni is quite conservative with his approach and he goes for the cobra squeeze when opponents make mistake. He also added that people will always remember him for his contribution and he makes it to the top five Indian players of all time.
“MS Dhoni is captain cool. He doesn’t sweat but he hasn’t played cricket for 14 months. He has had a camp back in Chennai. He is teaching some of the young guys back in quarantine some discipline because there is a lot of discipline in his game,” Dean Jones said on Star Sports’ chat show Cricket Connected.
“And as a captain, he is quite conservative in his tactics. But he waits for you to make a mistake and then the cobra goes for the squeeze. People will always remember what he has done. He will be in my top five Indian players of all time,” Jones said.
Dhoni made a big name for himself by making the country proud with his achievements after coming from the cricketing backwaters of Ranchi. He has achieved immense success as a player and also grew up to be one of the most successful captains and achieved almost everything the ICC tournaments had to offer.
All the success had made him one of the most influential person on the cricketing circuit but he was not the same when he was first introduced to the national team. Besides that, Dhoni has also been the go-to man for his teammates whenever he was on the field.
Dhoni understood the game well. He knew the strength of the side and backs his players accordingly. He did not takes any kind of frivolous decisions and likes to maintain his calm. It is due to these qualities Dhoni came up as one of the most calm and composed character on the cricket field.
