Of late, each and every statement from a celebrity is getting a huge light, especially, if it was made on the India-Pakistan issue. In one of those, recently, Sachin Tendulkar quoted that he would not like to lose 2 points by not playing Pakistan in ICC World Cup 2019. Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly quoted he is looking for World Cup, not those 2 points.

Though there is nothing wrong in the statement, few media persons tried to make a stir out of the statement. As always, it travelled real quick in the air, which finally reached to Sourav Ganguly. The former skipper of India comes out of his space to make a statement on it.

Sourav Ganguly gave a declaration saying that there is nothing to do with his statement with Sachin Tendulkar. Further, explained that it was just a controversy created by a few media channels. He quoted that Sachin Tendulkar will always be his friend for a lifetime.

Digging into his tweet, it read ” lot of people in the media is trying to put my statement against Sachin when I said “I want the World Cup”My response has got nothing to do with his statement, nor is my statement against his .. he is, has been and will be one of my best friends for last 25 years.”

I want World Cup: Sourav Ganguly

Earlier, in an event, Sourav Ganguly quoted that Sachin Tendulkar wants two points against Pakistan and he wants a World Cup. Headlining the statement, a lot of controversies have already started to make a buzz in the country.

Speaking at a promotional event in Kolkata, Ganguly said: “He (Sachin) wants two points against Pakistan, I want the World Cup.”

Ganguly backs Virat Kohli:

Further, he went on to add saying that the games against India and Pakistan have always been played after the call from the Indian Government. Ganguly felt that Virat Kohli was right in following the rules while making his voice out.

”I think that’s the only way forward. He doesn’t control all these things and for him what he can control is the way they have played and the way they will play. I don’t think he should worry about what’s going to happen. It’s always been the case when India play Pakistan. It’s for the government to take a decision and the cricketers will follow that,” he said.

However, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out. India is scheduled to play Pakistan on June 16th in the ICC World Cup 2019. If India decides to boycott them, they would lose two points in the grand event.
