There is little denying the fact that weather has become the major talking point ahead of the much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan. The reason for the same is obvious. Rain has been playing spoilsport in the ongoing edition of the tournament. As many as four games have already been washed out due to rain and the weather forecast for the upcoming games are not very promising either.

Both India and Pakistan will be desperate to get back on the field and take away the maximum points. They have already lost one point each due to rain. India’s game against New Zealand and Pakistan’s game against Sri Lanka could not go ahead because of rain. Another washed-out game could make things trickier for them as World Cup is entering its business phase.

But the teams cannot do much if the weather decides to play spoilsport. The scenes in Manchester are not promising at all at the moment. It rained heavily in Manchester yesterday (Saturday). There were some dry spells in between but the weather remained cloudy throughout. It rained heavily in night too. What is worrying that there was no covers on the outfield. And thus even if the rain stops right before the game, one cannot guarantee that the umpires would let the players take the field straightaway.

Well, it is not all dark and gloomy in Manchester at the moment. Journalist Pawan Durani posted a promising picture of the sky on the match-day. The early-morning scenes showed clear and blue sky and the fans would be praying that it remains like that throughout.
