Rahul Dravid Explains RoadMap Of NCA To Sourav Ganguly & Co

In the previous Decade of Indian Cricket, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly used to be the skippers of the Indian National Cricket Team and also played under each other to make things fall in place for the team. Now, once again, they joined to put the Indian Cricket in the right direction with respectable roles in the BCCI organisation.

On Wednesday, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly met NCA head Rahul Dravid to chalk out a roadmap for the improvement of the academy. Majorly, it was Dravid, who gave his presentation while the others in the board meeting heard his thoughts full of ears.

Dravid’s presentation focused on the current age-group programmes, rehabilitation facilities and a roadmap for junior cricket in the country. Ganguly reached the NCA facility early in the day accompanied by all other BCCI office-bearers.

“President Ganguly was all ears while Dravid gave the presentation,” Jayesh George, BCCI joint secretary, said.

BCCI had signed a 25-acre deal with the Karnataka government in May and now it has got an additional 15 acres of land from the government for setting up the Centre of Excellence near the Bengaluru international airport.

The NCA was deemed to be the supply line of Indian cricket. But, actually, became a rehabilitation centre, which even Ganguly acknowledged after taking over.

Meanwhile, one of the BCCI officials gave an example saying ”If there is a sudden need for a Mohammed Shami, for example, to use the NCA facilities for rehab, he will be struggling. That is because whether you want to jog or run or train or bat or bowl or swim, you need to take the permission of the KSCA (Karnataka State Cricket Association). They might be having an age-group camp in progress; members also use the swimming pool, so timings have to be worked around it.”

Many former players including VVS Laxman and India head coach Ravi Shastri are expecting a quick resumption of the NCA. They all have high expectations from the renowned duo of Ganguly and Dravid.
