Ranji Trophy 2018-19: Watch Suresh Raina Grab a Spectacular Catch

India’s southpaw batsman Suresh Raina took a fine catch while fielding at first slip in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2018-19. Raina was able to grab a low left-handed catch in the match between Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Suresh Raina was ousted from the captaincy duties as he could not deliver the goods in the red ball version.

Thus, the captaincy reins were handed over to Akshdeep Nath. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh was able to skittle out Odisha for 256 in the first innings after the visitors had won the toss and had decided to bowl first. Ankit Rajpoot and Yash Dayal were able to bag three wickets each whereas Saurabh Kumar and skipper Akshdeep Nath took two wickets each.

Raina will need to come up with special performances.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh is currently batting on 102-4 in their first innings and trail by 154 runs. Suresh Raina was once again not able to come up with goods as the left-hander scored only 16 runs. In fact, Raina’s form in the red ball version hasn’t been great as he has failed to deliver the goods.

On the other hand, Suresh Raina had received his chance for ODI and T20I series against England. He had replaced Ambati Rayudu who had failed to clear the Yo-Yo test.

However, Raina didn’t have an ideal England tour. Subsequently, he was left out from the Indian squad for the Asia Cup. Thus, Raina will need to come up with special performances to get back into the Indian squad.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh had won their first match of Ranji Trophy 2018-19 by an innings and 247 runs against Goa. Their captain was the star of the show as Nath had scored a fine knock of 194 runs.
