Richard Halsall puts down his papers as an assistant coach of Bangladesh

Bangladesh cricket received yet another blow after the Nidahas Trophy final. The Tigers assistant coach Richard Halsall resigned has from his coveted position.

Halsall served Bangladesh Cricket for more than three-and-a-half-years until now. The Zimbabwean received his appointment back in September 2014, ahead of the World Cup in Australia.

The Zimbabwean cited out personal issues as the reason for his resignation. BCB respected his decision and appreciated his move to step down from his post in the support staff.

Richard has officially submitted his resignation. We understand that his decision is from family considerations and he wishes to stay close to home especially to be by the side of his ailing father. The Board respects his priorities and has accepted the resignation,” Bangladersh media quoted the BCB CEO, Nizamuddin Chowdhury.

Richard has been an integral member of the Bangladesh team management during the last four years and part of many successes of the national team. The board would like to thank Richard for his contribution to Bangladesh cricket and wishes him the very best for his future,” added Chowdhury according to Daily Star.

Moreover, the staff member was responsible for elevating Bangladesh into its current stature in world cricket. Halsall thanked the cricketing fraternity in Bangladesh for the support over the years.

Earlier, Chandrika Hathurusingha from Bangladesh swapped places with Sri Lanka Cricket for the role of head coach.

I wish to thank the Board for four brilliant years with the national team. I have worked alongside some excellent colleagues.Also, have had so many opportunities to grow and develop in my career,” stated Halsall in a recent interaction.

Interestingly, under the Zimbabwean, Bangladesh overhauled all the notable forces in gentleman’s game.

Also, the assistant coach wishes to take all the sweet memories and desired all the success in the future.

I will always be grateful for how my family was accepted and treated and the great memories of famous victories versus England, Pakistan, India, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Australia will always remain with me. Also, I will never forget my time with the Bangladesh cricket team and wish them every success in the future,” concluded Richard Halsall.
