India opener Rohit Sharma, on Saturday, scored his second century of the ongoing first Test against South Africa. Rohit Sharma opened for the first time in Tests and couldn’t have asked for a better start. After scoring 176 in the first innings, he scored 127 in the second innings. And the knock saw him break a number of records.
One of the most remarkable record that he broke was that of most number of sixes by a player in a Test match. The India star broke former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram’s 23-year old record to achieve the incredible feat. Akram had hit 12 sixes during his unbeaten 257 run knock against Zimbabwe way back in 1996.

Meanwhile, India came up with another fine performance with the bat to declare their innings o 323 for 4 and set the Proteas an improbable total of 395. After bowling out the visitors for 431 early on day four, India started poorly as Mayank Agarwal was out for just 7. But Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara batted India to a position of strength by adding 169 runs. Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane then played quickfire knocks to help India post the massive total.
