Bangladesh’s talisman all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has decided to skip team’s training camp and he is staying back to participate in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Hasan was expected to join his teammates for the training camp of the tri-nation series in Ireland. However, he has decided to be in India for the ongoing tournament.

The preparatory camp of the national side begins from Monday, 22 April. In fact, Shakib Al Hasan hasn’t got a lot of chances in the final XI for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing season as he has played only a solitary match. Furthermore, he had initially agreed to his participation in the training camp. However, with the foreign positions opening up in the side, Shakib Al Hasan has sought the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s permission.

Hasan wants to get game time in the IPL.

Jonny Bairstow will play his last match on 23rd April against CSK. Furthermore, David Warner will also head back home after playing 12 matches. Thus, Shakib is expected to get his chances in the playing XI.

“Shakib was expected to arrive on April 23 but now that is not happening,” Akram said while talking to Cricbuzz. “He has informed us that as someone had left from the Sunrisers [set-up] there is a chance that he might play and so he wanted to stay back.

“We have given him the permission as we believe if he can play it will always be good for him leading up to the tri-nation in Ireland,” Akram added.

“Well, he is in India with his IPL team and I think it’s good for him to be there to get some match practice if he can. I think that match fitness for him right now is the key. He was injured; he was practicing for quite some time. Personally, I would like him to play a couple of games in the IPL to get a bit sharper for of the World Cup,” Walsh said.

Bangladesh will play their first match of the tri-series against West Indies on 7th May.
