Lalchand Rajput Applies for Team India Head Coach:

Former India international Lalchand Rajput, who has over 20 years coaching experience, has filed nomination for the position of India’s head coach.

The international coach had filed the form on June 30 which was also the deadline set by the BCCI for the applications of the chief coach and support staff.

The 57-year-old Rajput is currently serving Zimbabwe as the head coach. Also, he had served Afghanistan as a chief coach in the past.

Mumbai Indians Ropes in Delhi Capitals’ Sherfane Rutherford for Mayank Markande:

In a trade ahead of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the four-time champions Mumbai Indians had released young leg-spinner Mayank Markande to avail services of Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals’ Sherfane Rutherford.

The Windies all-rounder Rutherford had featured in seven matches. He had managed to score 73 apart from taking a solitary wicket.

On the other hand, Markande had snared 15 wickets in 2018. In 2019, he just made an appearance in three games for the Rohit Sharma-led Indians.

Shakib Al Hasan Join Rangpur Riders for the Upcoming BPL Season:

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has signed a deal with Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Rangpur Riders for the seventh edition of the BBL.

Recently, Shakib had done an outstanding job with bat and ball.

In the inaugural edition of the BPL, Shakib had led Khulna Royal Bengals before leading Dhaka Gladiators to the title win. Also, in 2015 he had represented Riders. Thereon, he had played for Dhaka Dynamites between 2016 and 2018.

Moreover, he’s expressed delight in returning to its old franchise – Riders.

The tourney will get underway from December 6.

Ben Stokes Clear the Air Over Cancellation of Four Overthrows:

England World Cup hero, Ben Stokes had cleared the air over controversial six which was awarded to England during the grand finale of the ICC World Cup 2019 against New Zealand.

In the grand final, the straight umpire Kumar Dharmasena awarded the Three Lions six runs including four when the ball deflected off Ben’s bat at the striker’s end.

In the BBC Podcast, Stokes claimed that he gave it a thought, but he did not ask umpire. He stated that he had extended an apology to Kiwis skipper Kane Williamson apart from wicketkeeper Tom Latham.

AB de Villiers Predicts Jonny Bairstow Will Lead Run Getters in the Ashes:

On the eve of Ashes opener between England and Australia legendary batsman, AB de Villiers has discussed the batsmen.

Also, he had picked England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow as the highest run-getter during the Ashes 2019.

While speaking to BBC Sport, de Villiers maintained that Bairstow has been in ‘incredible form’. He added the prominent batsman had taken his game to the ‘next level.

Furthermore, the much-awaited Ashes campaign will begin with the Edgbaston Test on Thursday (August 1).

Prithvi Shaw’s Childhood Coach Says his Ward Will Return Stronger After Doping Ban:

As Prithvi Shaw has been banned by the BCCI for eight months on July 30 (Tuesday) after he failed the dope Test, his childhood coach Santosh Pingutkar says that his ward will make a strong comeback.

The 19-year-old had received a ban for consuming banned substance Terbutaline during the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tourney in February this year.

In 2018, Shaw made his Test debut for Team India.
