Twitterati Thrashes Navjot Singh Sidhu Over His Bromance at Imran Khan's Oath-Taking Ceremony

Navjot Singh Sidhu was there at the oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan's new prime minister, Imran Khan.

The cricketer-turned-politician of India, Navjot Singh Sidhu was a special invitee at the oath-taking ceremony of new Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan.

In the General Elections that took place on 25th July, Imran Khan, the cricketer-turned-politician, as a result, won the mandate of people.

On his oath-ceremony, the patron of Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI), Imran Khan invited his close friends from neighbouring country India,

The invitees from India were – Sunil Gavaskar, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Kapil Dev and Aamir Khan subsequently.

Although everyone rejected the offer due to prior commitments, Navjit Singh Sidhu was the one to make it. As a result, Singh reached to Pakistan last night and got a lot of applause from Pakistani people.

Noteworthy, he arrived Lahore via Attari-Wagah border and travelled to Islamabad to attend the ceremony consequently.

The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Aiwan-e-Sadr ( The President House) in Islamabad on Saturday.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was wearing a blue shirt and a pink turban was a special guest at the procession subsequently.

While interacting with the Pakistani media, Sidhu said that he came to Pakistan as a friend of Imran Khan, not as a politician. He is hopeful that under the Imran Khan’s accession of Prime Minister post, India and Pakistan will share a good relation subsequently.

“A new morning is here in Pakistan with a new government which can change the destiny of the country,” said Mr. Sidhu, a minister in the Congress government in Punjab.

The Army chief General of Pakistan, Qamar Asim Bajwa, after arriving in the house went to the front row of the guests. He took a chair next to Navjot Singh Sidhu after they hugged each other. The duo chatted for a brief period and exchanged the warm smiles with each other subsequently.

Soon after he hugged the Army chief of Pakistan, Twitterati got fumed with such bizarre act from Sidhu. Furthermore, his hug did not go well as people questioned his accountability and credibility over the same.
