He lauded the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan who won the General Elections in the recent past. Imran Khan, who is the patron of Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf took his oath on Saturday (August 18th) as 22nd Prime Minister.

“I had been an ardent fan of the multi-talented Khan. In the field of cricket, he had been a great achiever and brought laurels not only for the game, but also to his country by winning the World Cup. He was a pioneer in his field. Apart from cricket, I was always impressed by the overall personality of Khan and this is the reason, during cricketing days, I always tried to stay close to him,” said Sidhu.

Earlier, Imran Khan had sent an invitation to top three firebrand cricketers of India. Sunil Gavaskar, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Kapil Dev were the three cricketers who received the letter. Gavaskar and Dev could not make it due to their prior engagements.
