Former Indian fast bowler Ajit Agarkar has selected India’s playing XI for the third Test match at Trent Bridge. Agarkar has made two changes to India’s final XI as compared to the last Test Match at Lord’s.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has played a different XI in all the 37 Test matches in his captaincy tenure. Thus, with India falling down like a house of cards in the second Test match, Kohli is likely to continue with his style of picking a different XI.

Furthermore, India had gambled with the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav and had to pay the price in the conditions which were suited more to fast bowling. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant is also in contention to make his Test debut at Trent Bridge.

Ajit Agarkar brought in Rishabh Pant in place of Dinesh Karthik who has struggled to find his form. Karthik has scored only 26 runs in the two Test matches and has failed to grab his chance.

The former Indian all-rounder, Ajit Agarkar also brought in Umesh Yadav in place of chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Interestingly, the former Mumbai player has overlooked Jasprit Bumrah who is expected to make the cut into the playing XI after regaining fitness.

Meanwhile, Murali Vijay and KL Rahul will continue to be the first choice openers for Ajit Agarkar. However, both haven’t given a strong start to the Indian team.

Here is Ajit Agarkar’s playing XI for the third Test match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Murali Vijay, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravi Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami.
