Since BCCI has advertised for other positions as well there can be a case when there could be few changes in the present coaching staff, even if Shastri keeps his job. Bharat Arun, bowling coach of Indian cricket team, also looks set to keep his job. For now, no former player has applied for the job of the bowling coach.

India kick off the tour of West Indies with two T20Is in Florida, USA. The third T20I will be played in Guyana, that will also host the first of the three ODIs scheduled. Two-Test match series will follow the white-ball action. After the completion of the tour, India will play home series against South Africa.

Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, no other regular player was rested for the series. The right-arm pacer will return for two Tests.
