Over the years, the fans have witnessed many-a-catches near the boundary ropes. The turn of the millennium has seen the fielding level going several notches higher and one can say that it is the need of the hour. With the new rules like powerplays tilting the game heavily in the batsmen’s favour, saving possible every run has become important.  And perhaps that is the reason behind the players not shying away from risking themselves to stop the boundaries.

From juggling to diving catches, the breathtaking efforts from the players have left the fans gasping for breath. But the fans have probably seen the best of the lot in the ongoing One-Day International between India and New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and surprisingly none of the likes of Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya or Kane Williamson took the catch but instead it was taken by a budding cricketer who was given the responsibility to throw the ball back into the field of play whenever it crossed the boundary rope.

Yes, you have guessed it right. A ball-boy took a stunning one-handed catch outside the boundary, much to the delight of the crowd. The kid took the catch in the 25th over when India skipper pulled a well-directed short from Adam Milne towards the fine leg. The Kiwi fielder tried to pouch the ball but he could only see it sail above him before the young boy caught it with a single hand. He instantly became a star as the camera firmly focused him on while the fans applauded him. In fact, even a member of New Zealand team was seen having a chat with him.

Here is a clip of that stunner:
