The entire world celebrated International Dog Day on Monday (August 26). Dogs from across the world completely took over the social media.  The holiday is observed every year on August 26. According to the National Dog Day website, the holiday was founded in 2004 by animal advocate, Colleen Paige. Former India opener Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter to post an adorable video on the occasion.

The legendary batsman is one of the most active cricketers on Twitter at the moment. He rarely misses an opportunity to share his opinion on Twitter. Sehwag not only tweets about cricket but also about other fields. Thus it was not at all surprising when he took to Twitter to post a video on International Dog Day.

A cricketer, who was nothing less than a menace for the bowlers in his playing days, showed the softer side of his personality on the special day. Sehwag was seen washing his cute pooch. The legendary batsman captioned the video in his own style, writing:

Virender Sehwag, meanwhile, will go down in history as one of the greatest openers to have played for India. He is widely regarded as the most destructive opener in Tests. Sehwag, who won the World Cup with India in 2011, played 104 Tests, 251 one-day and 19 T20Is. He scored 8,586 Test runs at an average of 49.34 and is the only Indian to score an international triple century.

In fact, Sehwag has two triple centuries to his name. He has also scored a double ton in ODI. The right-hander had also helped India win the World T20 in 2007.
