ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Kane Williamson To Re-Think About His Future In New Zealand Cricket

New Zealand Cricket Team suffered a staggering defeat against Pakistan in the Semi-Final. The Black Caps were outplayed in all the 3 departments of the game.  New Zealand though would be proud of their journey as not many gave them a chance in the marquee tournament.

Pakistan Cricket Team would be ecstatic after winning the encounter as now they have a golden chance to win the Championship for the second time. The Men in Green showed great character as making a comeback after losing the first 2 matches was not easy by any means.

Kane Williamson on Future

Kane Williamson was having an interaction with the media and was asked about his career. “I certainly love playing in all the formats. There’s a lot of cricket, and so that needs to be managed a little bit. It’s a changing landscape with players all around the world at the moment, and we’ve seen it in our camp as well. After these sorts of events you sort of sit down and give yourself a chance to reflect and sort of look at what’s coming up.” said Kane Williamson.

Disappointing Performance from New Zealand

New Zealand would be questioned for benching Martin Guptill through-out the tournament. The right-handed batter is immensely experienced and it won’t be wrong to say that his absence hurt the Kiwis a lot. Skipper Kane Williamson’s decision to not give an over or two to James Neesham was questionable as the bowlers weren’t getting any significant help from the pitch.

The Black Caps would be dejected not because they lost but they failed to show any intent. Trent Boult, the left-arm speedster, and the all-rounder James Neesham have decided to skip national duties in order to play franchise cricket which is raising a lot of eyebrows. The selection panel would be bothered as Kane Williamson’s defensive approach hasn’t been fruitful. As mentioned by Kane Williamson, there is a lot of cricket and now we are witnessing players choosing franchise cricket which is quite frustrating for the game of Cricket.
