India are considered the favourites to win the current ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, according to former Indian bowler Pragyan Ojha. On November 10, at the Adelaide Oval, Rohit Sharma and company will face Jos Buttler’s England in the second semifinal.

Ojha asserted that the team deserves to be in the semifinals while referring to India as the favourites to win the T20 World Cup in an interview with India Today.

“Everything that they are getting is very well deserved. They’ve done everything possible to reach here. They’ve worked hard, they were here 18 days before the tournament and they’ve prepared well.

Every situation that called for an extraordinary performance, one of them was there. There are two more steps to go and this team has everything in them to win the tournament. They are the favorites,” said Ojha.

The team has put in a lot of effort to go to the knockout rounds after experiencing difficulty in previous competitions, according to the former spinner.

“Semi-finals and the knockout stages is what these players must be thinking about. This is what they were really working hard to cross, and now it is time.

They’ve reached the semi-finals and now they have to level up their performance and their attitude because these are the last two hurdles that they need to cross. After this they can just take their foot off the peddle for a while because they’d deserve it,” Ojha added.

Important To See How India Prepares For Knock-outs: Pragyan Ojha

The 36-year-old continued by asserting that India has the proper team to win the T20 World Cup and that everyone in India is looking forward to the knockout rounds.

“But it is very important to see how they prepare themselves for the semi-finals and then the final. These are the two games that every Indian is waiting for. This is the right time to say that this team has arrived because every time we reached the knockout stage or the semi-finals, we somehow could not cross it.

This is what Rohit Sharma and his team would be looking to do because they have got the right team to cross these last hurdles,” said Ojha.

After New Zealand plays Pakistan in Sydney on November 9, Team India will play England on November 10.
