India is set to take on Australia in their first warm-up game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The Super 12 stage of the competition began on Sunday with four teams already having played their group matches, but still, have a week’s time to gear up for the competition.

The Rohit Sharma-led team were spotted training at the Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday. After batting for a long session, the former India captain was seen having fun with teammates Bhuvneshwar Kumar, KL Rahul, and Arshdeep Singh during the team’s training session at the Gabba, all smiles as Virat showed off his dance moves.

Virat Kohli was seen chatting with KL Rahul, Arshdeep Singh, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of the warm-up game. The animated Kohli also showed off some dance moves, and he looked to be very enthusiastic, which is a good sign for Indian cricket fans.

Mohammed Shami bowled to former India captain Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik in the nets ahead of the warm up match. He replaced Jasprit Bumrah, who had been ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury. The veteran pacer is aiming to play his first T20I game in the World Cup since the last edition.

Virat Kohli finished the Asia Cup as the second highest run-scorer after Mohammad Rizwan. In this tournament, Kohli ended his nearly three-year international century drought. The Indian star batter continued his red-hot form with a 63 against Australia in the third and final T20I of a three-match series and 49 not out against South Africa.

India Will Play Two Warm-up Games Before Facing Pakistan

India will play two warm-up games before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening encounter of the World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, on Sunday, October 23. The mother of all battles between the two teams will be renewed after last month’s Asia Cup thrillers. The Babar Azam-led team is evenly matched against the Rohit Sharma-led team.

India will play Australia in their first warm-up game on Monday, followed by the match against New Zealand on Wednesday, October 19. Both games will be played at The Gabba, Brisbane.
