I will come back when I feel it’s the right time to play Test-match cricket – Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is not among the fittest Indian cricketers and he has been a victim of several injuries over the last few years, which has forced him to stay out of Test cricket.

Speaking to reporters after the third T20I against New Zealand in Ahmedabad, Pandya opened up on his potential Test comeback.

He said that currently, his entire focus is on limited-overs cricket and if he remains fit enough for Test cricket, he will give it a try once again.

“I will come (back) when I feel (it’s) the right time to play Test-match cricket,” Pandya said.

“Right now, I’m going to focus on white-ball cricket, which is important, and if time is right and body is fine, I’ll give (the long format) a try,” the Indian all-rounder added. Pandya has played 11 Test matches for India.

India will resume their campaign in the ongoing cycle of the ICC World Test Championship with the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 series against Australia National Cricket Team, which will begin on February 9.
