India might start against England in the 2022 T20 World Cup second semifinal at Adelaide Oval with the same starting lineup.

With the lineup remaining the same, Rishabh Pant—who made his MCG breakthrough against Zimbabwe the other night, unfortunately ineffectually kept in place ahead of veteran finisher Dinesh Karthik, who appeared in the starting lineup for the first four games but produced very little.

Dinesh Karthik hasn’t performed up to the standards set, receiving scores of 1, 6, and 7. He has only faced 22 balls, but he is in Australia to make rapid runs. He was ready to face Bangladesh, but a misunderstanding with Virat Kohli led to his dismissal. Apart from the support of the team management, DK does not currently have much to show for it.

Rishabh Pant, on the other hand, has been working hard to make a comeback. Even against Bangladesh, he was expected to replace Karthik, who had a back injury. However, Team India chose Karthik over Pant because he recovered quickly time.

Rishabh Pant is expected to keep his spot in the starting lineup:

Karthik was observed batting for the longest period of time in the nets on Tuesday (November 8), but Rishabh Pant is expected to keep his spot in the starting lineup for the crucial knockout game. Because Rishabh Pant is preferred, Hardik Pandya, who hasn’t had the finest World Cup with the bat, will have to take on the specialized position of a finisher, but the starting XI might not change all that much.

Axar Patel, the left-arm spinner, will be favored over Yuzvendra Chahal, the only member of the 15-person group who hasn’t had a chance to play in the XI thus far in the World Cup in Australia if the combination remains the same.

The temptation to throw a wrist spinner against England in the semifinal is strong, but unless the weather and playing conditions significantly change before the match, it’s likely that the winning combination will hold true for Thursday’s match.

The Adelaide Oval’s dynamics, which are different from those of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where it has proven difficult to cross the fence, appear to be among the many factors the team management is taking into consideration.

Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against mighty England in the Semi Final on 10th November (Thursday). The Men in Blue are high on confidence after winning 4 matches out of 5 in the Group Stage.
