Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav provided an update on all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s availability for the third Test match against England. Kuldeep Yadav expressed confidence that Ravindra Jadeja would be available for selection in the upcoming red ball match.

Ravindra Jadeja injured his hamstring while attempting a quick single during the first Test in Hyderabad. He was ruled out of the second Test match in Visakhapatnam. Although he has returned to the Indian team, his availability remains contingent upon his fitness.

The 35-year-old demonstrated all-round abilities during the series opener. The left-handed batter emerged as the highest run-getter in India’s first innings, scoring 87 runs off 180 deliveries. The left-arm spin bowler secured five wickets across the two innings.

Ravindra Jadeja Did One Session On Monday – Kuldeep Yadav

Speaking to reporters ahead of the third Test, Kuldeep Yadav provided positive news about Ravindra Jadeja‘s fitness. Kuldeep mentioned that Jadeja has been undergoing his regular training regimen, indicating his readiness and availability for selection.

“He is doing his routine (work). He did one session yesterday (Monday) and I think he is available,” Kuldeep said.

With experienced batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul absent, Ravindra Jadeja’s batting prowess becomes crucial for the team in the third Test. The Rohit Sharma-led team is optimistic about Jadeja’s recovery and anticipates a significant contribution on his home ground.

Not Sure About My Position In India’s Playing XI – Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav refrained from confirming his participation in the upcoming Test. He emphasized his dedication to preparation and readiness to contribute if given the opportunity, underscoring the significance of team dynamics in cricket.

“I’m not sure about my position because there’s still two days to go for the match. If I get the opportunity I’ll be more than happy. I don’t think too much about whether I’m playing or not. I just enjoy my day and keep working hard. That’s my process. The combination matters a lot in a team game. It’s as simple as that,” Kuldeep added.

Kuldeep featured in the playing XI after Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the second Test. The left-arm wrist spinner picked up four wickets in both innings. Axar Patel appeared off-color, managing two wickets. Kuldeep and Axar will compete for a place if Jadeja returns.

I Haven’t Played On Rank Turners – Kuldeep Yadav

In the previous Tests, the pitches offered good conditions with some assistance for spinners, creating a balanced contest between bat and ball. Kuldeep Yadav expressed uncertainty regarding the pitch conditions for the upcoming Rajkot Test.

“I have no idea. I haven’t played on rank turners. I did not play in the last series (the Border Gavaskar series in February-March last year) at home. So, I do not know what our approach or thinking would be. It is basically the team management’s decision. All of you also want to watch good cricket. For good cricket, it’s important (that the wickets are good),” Kuldeep further stated.
