Bangladesh Cricket Team’s bowlers bowled with a lot of discipline as they made Indian batters work hard for every run. India’s elegant batter Cheteshwar Pujara showed immense metal application. The right-handed batter would rue the fact that he missed out on a ton as he scored 90 runs in 203 balls where he struck 11 fours.

The management would be mightily pleased with the performance of Pujara as he step up when Virat Kohli & KL Rahul failed to make an impact. Skipper KL Rahul would be disappointed as once again he couldn’t convert a start into a big knock.

Cheteshwar Pujara on Knock

Cheteshwar Pujara was having an interaction with the media and was asked about the match. “Even if it’s just 90, it’s quite valuable for the team. It was a good ball, there was nothing I could have done. I am not too worried about not getting to the three-figure mark. I have been batting well and if I continue like this, hopefully it will come soon.” said Cheteshwar Pujara.

“Look, the way I was batting and looking at the pitch, it’s not an easy pitch to bat on, so I am really happy with the way I batted today. Sometimes, we try and pay (too much) attention to the three-figure mark but the most important thing when you play this sport is to try and put your team in a position from where we have a chance of winning the game. This pitch looks like there will be a result and we needed some runs on the board, so my partnership with Shreyas was very important. And also with Rishabh once we lost the first three wickets.” he added.

Cheteshwar Pujara on Day 2

Cheteshwar Pujara made an interesting comment on Day 2. “(Losing six wickets) is not too much. Looking at the pitch, we have a decent total on the board. If we were four or five down, things would have been even better but getting 350 would be a decent total on this pitch because we have seen that there’s enough turn for the spinners.” said Cheteshwar Pujara.

“We have three spinners in the team. The odd one is staying low when the fast bowlers are bowling too. It is not an easy pitch to bat on so hopefully our bowlers will do the job for us. If we add a few more runs it will be an interesting Test match.” he added.
