India vs Bangladesh: BAN Playing 11 vs IND- 2nd Test.  India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Match will be played from 22 to 26 December 2022 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Bangladesh. Prior to the Test Series, both the teams squared off against each other in the three-match ODI series, which was won by the hosts Bangladesh by 2-1.

The visitors registered a comprehensive 188-run win against Bangladesh in the first Test of the series at Chattogram. With just one more Test remaining, the visitors would be looking to end their tour with a whitewash and earn some valuable World Test Championship points.

It took the visitors only 11.2 overs on the final morning of the Chattogram Test to pick up the last four Bangladesh wickets and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Their 188-run win and South Africa’s six-wicket loss to Australia shortly afterwards meant the visitors are now second on the World Test Championship points table. They have another five Tests in this cycle, and if they win four of those, they will guarantee themselves another appearance in the final.

1st Test:- India 404 (Pujara 90, Iyer 86, Miraz 4-112, Taijul 4-133) and 258 for 2 dec (Gill 110, Pujara 102*) beat Bangladesh 150 (Mushfiqur 28, Kuldeep 5-40) and 324 (Zakir 100, Shakib 84, Axar 4-77) by 188 runs

Bangladesh did show some fight in the second innings but overall, they were way below par in all the departments. It was expected that Bangladesh would put up a stiff fight at home in the Test series against the visitors, but barring some second innings resistance they faltered. After reducing the visitors to 48-3 in the first innings, they allowed them to post 404 on the board.

They were then bundled out for just 150 in their first innings and had to chase a mammoth target of 513 in the second. Bangladesh fought hard courtesy of a century on debut by opener Zakir Hasan and some late-order heroics by captain Shakib Al Hasan (84), but they fell well short at 324. The failures of Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim in both innings are a matter of concern and the two experienced batters would be hoping for a better performance in the 2nd Test.

On the bowling front, the only positive for the home side was off-spinner Taijul Islam who picked up 4-133 in the first innings and was consistent with his lines. Fast bowlers Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain will need to be a lot more consistent with their lines if they have to put pressure on this Indian batting unit. Taskin Ahmed, who missed the first Test, should return for the next game. He is the team’s primary fast-bowling weapon and his return will bolster the bowling unit.
