One of the most consistent teams in IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a season to forget last year. For the first time in their IPL history, SRH succumbed to the bottom of the points table. In 14 matches, they could only win 3 matches. As a result of that lacklustre performance, SRH released some of the notable cricketers such as David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Rashid Khan and Jason Holder.

Though, they have stuck with Kane Williamson as captain and also retained Abdul Samad and Umran Malik. The franchise would be pretty satisfied with their acquisitions at the Mega Auction 2022.

They broke their bank to get Nicholas Pooran for a huge sum of INR 10.75 crores. Besides, they spent heavily on the likes of Washington Sundar (Rs 8.75 crore), Rahul Tripathi (Rs 8.5 crore), Romario Shepherd (Rs 7.75 crore), and Abhishek Sharma (Rs 6.5 crore).

In this article, we have compiled our predicted playing XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Here’s a look at that.

IPL 2022: Sunrisers Hyderabad Predicted Playing XI For The First Match Of The Tournament

Openers: Rahul Tripathi and Kane Williamson

SRH would be delighted to have Rahul Tripathi in their team. He played vital knocks for KKR in the second leg of IPL 2021, helping the team reach the playoffs. The Indian cricketer would look to have a similar impact with the bat for a new franchise.

In the absence of both Warner and Bairstow, Williamson could promote himself to open the innings in IPL 2022. Rahul Tripathi and Kane Willaimson are likely to open the innings for the team this season.

Middle-Order: Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, and Abdul Samad

Aiden Markram could be the guy who would anchor the innings for the team. Markram has a lot of potential and the team will have expectations from him. Nicholas Pooran endured a forgettable outing with the bat in the last season yet SRH spent a huge sum of over 10 crores to get him into the side.

His recent form inspires a lot of confidence. It will be interesting to see if could live up to the expectations. Abdul Samad was the only Indian batsman who was retained by the franchise. The team has put faith in his abilities and Samad would be keen to live up to that.

All-rounders: Washington Sundar and Romario Shepherd

In Washington Sundar and Romario Shepherd, they have two useful all-rounders. Both have different skill sets which should keep the team in good stead. Their presence will add depth to the batting unit. Besides, they will give 8 useful overs with the ball.

Bowlers: Shreyas Gopal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is getting back into form and this is a positive sign for Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The Indian pacer fared well in the T20 series against Sri Lanka and West Indies. He will share the fast bowling responsibilities with Umran Malik and T Natarajan. T Natarajan missed out the last season due to injury.

He would be keen to make a strong comeback. Shreyas Gopal played for Rajasthan Royals last season but couldn’t make a great impact with the ball. It will be interesting to see if he could do something special this time around while playing for a different franchise.
