IPL 2022: The Way Ajinkya Rahane Is Training, He's Going To Dominate In The IPL - KKR Mentor David Hussey

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor David Hussey insisted that Indian batter, Ajinkya Rahane, has been training very well in the practice sessions and may well go on to make a huge impact in the IPL 2022 season.
Rahane was bought by KKR for his base price of INR 1 crore in the mega auction. Although he has been out of form for India, he will be hoping to regain his lost touch, at least in the shortest format of the game.
“He’s been a class player for over a decade, he’s dominated for Rajasthan Royals and I believe he has at least 5-10 years of international cricket left in him.”
“He might not be scoring the runs he wants recently but the way he is training he’s going to dominate in the IPL and also he’s a leader amongst the group as well,” Hussey was quoted as saying by PTI in a media interaction.
“Shreyas is a born leader” – David Hussey
Hussey further reckoned that the 27-year-old Shreyas Iyer was born to lead. He has an aura around him that commands respect. Notably, KKR also has other experienced players so if Iyer needs any help, he can turn to them.
“Shreyas is a born leader, just the way he walks around, he commands respect. Knowing Pat (Cummins) really well, he would be a good deputy and would also lead from the front,” Hussey added.
Iyer was bought by the KKR franchise for INR 12.25 crores. They retained Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, and Venkatesh Iyer from the previous squad.
KKR squad for IPL 2022 season:
Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, Venkatesh Iyer, Sunil Narine, Shreyas Iyer, Pat Cummins, Nitish Rana, Shivam Mavi, Sheldon Jackson, Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh, Anukul Roy, Rasikh Dar, Chamika Karunaratne, Baba Indrajith, Ashok Sharma, Pratham Singh, Abhijeet Tomar, Sam Billings, Ramesh Kumar, Mohammed Nabi, Aman Khan, Umesh Yadav.
