The two-time IPL champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had a poor season, finishing eighth overall and missing the playoffs. They lost five games in a row in the middle of the competition, thereby ruining their prospects of making the postseason. Their batting, which was headed by captain Shreyas Iyer, was a significant letdown for them.

Pat Cummins, Sam Billings, Aaron Finch, and Alex Hales won’t be accessible to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2023. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Lockie Ferguson, and Shardul Thakur were added as additions. KKR will participate in the auctions in December with a budget of INR 7.05 crore and 16 slots to fill.

Learn about the 3 Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players that were released and could bring in bids of more than 8 Cr at the IPL 2023 auction.

Shivam Mavi

In the IPL 2023 retention window, Shivam Mavi was one of many players released by Kolkata Knight Riders. The young player participated in 32 games with the team from 2018 to 2022, taking 30 wickets. He was signed for 7.25 crores during the IPL 2022 mega auction, but he only managed to take six wickets in five games, averaging 45.40, and had a 10.32 economy rate.

His participation in the IPL has significantly decreased over time. The decision by KKR to purchase him in the most recent mega auction was unexpected and ultimately unsuccessful. It will be interesting to see which franchise gives the young racer his big paycheck.

Aaron Finch

The 2021 ICC T20 World Cup-winning captain of Australia, Aaron Finch, replaced Alex Hales at Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 1.5 crore.

Aaron Finch is still involved in T20Is despite having stopped playing in ODIs. He has scored 2091 runs at an average of 25.91 in 92 IPL games. Aaron Finch, though, averaged just 17.2 runs per game in the IPL 2022, scoring just 86 runs in five games.

Aaron Finch has played for eight different clubs since making his IPL debut in 2010, thus he is familiar with the competition. According to his statistics, he will undoubtedly draw buyers during the IPL 2023 auction.

Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane, a veteran batter, is among the most experienced IPL players. Kolkata Knight Riders purchased the right-handed batter at the most recent auction. Rahane was given the opening position by the two-time IPL champions in order to provide some early beginnings, particularly during the powerplay.

But Rahane fell short of what the Men in Purple and Gold had hoped for. In seven games, he batted with a strike rate of 103.91 and scored 133 runs.

In the IPL 2023, many teams might go to considerable lengths to retain the services of the 34-year-old senior hitter. He has 4074 runs scored at an average of 30.86 in 158 games.
