Kolkata Knight Riders had a very ordinary season in 2022 after reaching the finals the previous year. The side finished seventh on the points table under their new skipper Shreyas Iyer.

KKR’s biggest problem in IPL 2022 was finding a proper playing combination and made as many as 21 changes throughout the season – the most by any franchise. The number of changes highlighted the inability of the management to find a perper playing combination.

Heading into IPL 2023, they need to release a lot of their players to buy some new ones who would fit the combination and requirements. In this article, we take a look at three RCB players KKR can target in IPL 2023 auction.

Shahbaz Ahmed

Ahmed can be another good addition to KKR in the spin department. He is a left-arm orthodox spinner and can bat well down the order as well. Alongside Karthik, he added a couple of key partnerships. Shahbaz is playing for Bengal in domestic cricket and in many ways, he will come back home to KKR if they manage to buy him.

Wanindu Hasaranga

Keeping a long-term future in mind, KKR needs to find another reputed spinner who can form a good partnership with Sunil Narine. Varun Chakravarthy turned out to be a one-season wonder and failed to live up to expectations in 2022. In such a scenario, Wanindu Hasaranga is the best bet among the RCB spinners who can complement Narine. Both of them can form a deadly combination and cause a lot of problems for opposition batsmen.

Dinesh Karthik

Karthi played forKKR from 2018 to 202. However, he was not at his best for the franchise. Having moved to RCB and being entrusted the role of finisher, the veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batsman flourished for his new franchise. KKR should ideally target to get DK back in if there is even a slight opportunity of doing so. In Karthik, KKR can get a good keeper and also an experienced middle-order batter.
