IPL 2023 Auction: 3 Teams Who Can Target Adam Milne In The IPL Auction 2023.  Adam Milne was one of the 8 players Chennai Super Kings released during the IPL 2023 retention window. Adam Milne was picked up for INR 1. 90 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction.

However, he was ruled out of the tournament after picking up a hamstring injury in the very first match of the season. Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana as a replacement for New Zealand pacer by CSK.

CSK was Adam Milne’s third franchise after Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Adam Milne made his debut in the IPL for RCB back in 2016. He played only one game in 2016 and four in 2017.

He was roped in for 3.20 crores by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021 auction but then was released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2022. CSK’s investment in him also did not pay off as he suffered a critical hamstring injury that ruled him out of the season last year.

Having been released by CSK, Adam Milne will be on the radar of a few other franchises. He has a raw pace and is skiddy with the ball. He is a specialist in the death overs having the ability to bowl consistent yorkers.

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad

Umran Malik is an out-and-out fast bowler for the franchise. The rest of the bowlers the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Marco Jansen, and Kartik Tyagi are all seam bowlers with Washington Sundar being the specialist spinner in the side. Aiden Markram and Abhishek Sharma can also chip in with a few overs.

With a remaining purse of over 40 crores (INR 42.25 Crores), the SRH management can go behind Adam Milne and secure him. He will bring the element of pace into the side as well. He along with Umran Malik and Marco Jansen can become a dependable pace trio for the franchise. 

2. Gujarat Titans (GT)

After releasing Lockie Ferguson (traded to KKR) and Varun Aaron, Gujarat Titans have lost out on a lot of pace. Alzarri Joseph is the only specialist fast bowler on the side with Mohammed Shami bringing in his experience. Pacers Yash Dayal, Pradeep Sangwan, and Darshan Nalkande are also present but don’t have much international exposure.

Adam Milne with his extreme and raw pace can be a good addition to the side. Pace played an important role in Gujarat Titans lifting the IPL 2022 title for the first time. Adam Milne’s addition will add to it all the more.

3. Mumbai Indians

Mumbai might want to get back their former player into the mix. He joined Mumbai Indians for 75 lakhs in IPL 2020 and was rebought in IPL 2021 for INR 3.20 crores. He picked up three wickets in four games for Mumbai that season. With the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer, Adam Milne can be a good addition to the side.

Though Jofra Archer has been retained by Mumbai, there is no guarantee that he will certainly be available for the next year (IPL 2023). In case he is not, Adam Milne can be his backup. Jason Behrendorff, Arjun Tendulkar, Jasprit Bumrah, Adam Milne, and Jofra Archer will form a deadly pace combination for MI.
