India and Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a hilarious remark on the gesture of 5-time IPL-winning captain MS Dhoni lifting the all-rounder after last year’s final. Dhoni was overflowing with emotions after Jadeja played out a wonderful knock at the Narendra Modi stadium which eventually sealed Chennai’s the 5th title in the final against Gujarat Titans.

As Ravindra Jadeja scored the winning runs with a four towards fine-leg, he sprinted across the World’s largest stadium before rushing to the CSK captain MS Dhoni. The occasion was so joyous and so enthralling that Dhoni, someone who is known for suppressing his emotions on the field, lifted the all-rounder in sheer appreciation with emotions of pride clear on the wicket-keeper batsman’s face.

Ravindra Jadeja takes pride in being the only cricketer to be lifted by MS Dhoni

Recently, 4 CSK players – Rachin Ravindra, MS Dhoni, Shivam Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja took part in a promotional event organized by the franchise. Therein, all of them were speaking about various things and MSD was also asked to shed light on the brilliant innings that Jadeja played in the 2023 IPL final.

But the most interesting part was when Jadeja was asked to say something about the lift of admiration he received from MS Dhoni after his wonderous knock last year. To that, the all-rounder in his witty mode, took pride in being the only one after his wife Sakshi Dhoni to get lifted by the legendary former cricketer. “I believe after Sakshi bhabhi, I am the only guy who was lifted by Mahi Bhai.” – Jadeja said with a bright smile at the CSK event. 

Then it was MS Dhoni who was asked to reflect on Jadeja’s superb knock and to that Dhoni had nothing but words of appreciation. The 42-year-old said that he knew Jadeja could do something magical towards the end and also said that it was a very memorable night in Ahmedabad.

“And this situation also, you know I was quite confident about Jaddu has the talent and mindset to achieve the target. But again, its not definitely that this is what will happen. It was a very memorable innings. You know the few sixes that he hit before the last ball, I think those were very difficult.” – MS Dhoni said in the same event. 

CSK gearing up for a clash against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam 

Meanwhile, after registering back-to-back wins against RCB and Gujarat Titans, CSK will be traveling to Vishakhapatnam for an away clash against Delhi Capitals. Out of the 29 matches played between the two teams, CSK have come out on top 19 times while Delhi have won just 10 times.
