SRH takes on Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 8 of IPL 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. This is SRH’s first of the two home games they play in the first phase. The match will be played on Wednesday, March 27.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their first match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. They were chasing 209 to win and were in the game till Heinrich Klassen’s blazing knock was won. Hardhit Rana then kept his cool in the final over as he took two wickets in the final over and even dismissed Klaasen to win a thriller for KKR.

Mumbai Indians, under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, lost their first game against Gujarat Titans. A young Shubman Gill topped his former Titans captain as Umesh Yadav defended 19 off the final over. MI needed 49 off 30 balls at one point and then the Titans bowlers were able to slow the scoring rate while chipping away with the wickets. Umesh Yadav then defended 19 off the final over despite Pandya scoring 10 off the first two balls.

Thus both teams who lost their first teams will now face off each other. Mumbai Indians have been losing their opening game since 2023. However, the bigger talking point was Hardik Pandya who took some strange calls as captain. Giving Jasprit Bumrah the fourth over was one of them. He did not use the complete potential of the bowlers as well.

SRH vs MI Broadcasting Rights in India

Star Sports has bagged the broadcast rights of IPL 2024. Disney Star had won India TV rights of IPL for a bid of Rs 23,575 crores. Thus, the SRH vs MI match will be broadcast across Star Sports channels in multiple languages. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST.
