India crushed Sri Lanka in the first T20I and won the game by 62 runs on Thursday. After posting a mammoth score of 199 runs in the first innings, India, later, restricted Sri Lanka to only 137 runs.

Rohit Sharma and co. would be keen to win the second game as well and thereby seal the series. The second T20 international is scheduled to take place on Saturday at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of the Indian Cricket Team for the second match.

Openers: Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma

The duo gave the team a powerful start in the first match. They added 111 runs for the opening wicket and helped the team reach a formidable score of 199 runs in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan amassed 89 runs in 56 balls, while Rohit Sharma scored 44 in 32 deliveries. India aren’t likely to experiment early into the series and thus you expect the duo to open the batting in the second game as well.

Middle-Order: Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, and Deepak Hooda

In the absence of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer has been given the opportunity to bat at number three in the batting order. He played an outstanding knock of 57 runs in 28 deliveries in the first match at a strike rate of over 200. Shreyas is likely to continue batting at number three, followed by Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda at four and five respectively.

All-rounders: Venkatesh Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, and Harshal Patel

Ravindra Jadeja made a great return to international cricket on Thursday. He got the opportunity to bat at number four in the last game. Skipper Rohit Sharma also stated that he will bat higher up the order in the future as well. With the ball, Ravindra Jadeja finished with figures of 1 for 28 in 4 overs. Venkatesh Iyer didn’t get the opportunity to bat in the last game but bowled three overs of medium pace. He finished with figures of 2 for 36 in 3 overs.

Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzevndra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has shown massive improvement in the last couple of series. He, once again, started off pretty well in the power play on Thursday, picking two wickets for just 9 runs in 2 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal too was effective with his leg-spin as he gave only 11 runs for 1 wicket in 3 overs. Besides, Jasprit Bumrah should complete the playing XI.
