The Women’s Premier League 2023 has finally reached as the Delhi Capitals Women are up against Mumbai Indians Women in the finals of the coveted tournament. However, it seems like Delhi have been put in a pinch after opting to bat first as Issy Wong struck twice in the second over of the innings to dismiss both Shafali Verma and Alice Capsey.

Delhi who started well in the first over were given a shocker by Issy Wong in the second as she dismissed Shafali Verma in a big surprise as she pitched in a full-toss almost at the waist length, Shafali tried to smash it away but it ballooned up in the air giving Amelia Kerr at point a lot of time to position herself and bag a simple catch.

Shafali Verma was seen surprised at the decision as she was seen talking with the umpires calling it a no-ball. While the umpires did decide to take the decision upstairs, it seemed like a close call and Issy Wong was given the benefit of doubt with Shafali Verma returning back with a score of 11 to her name.

Delhi Capitals had no time to recover from the early setback as just one delivery after the dismissal of Shafali Verma, Issy Wong struck once again with a very similar delivery this time a tad away from the batter. Alice Capsey who was on strike tried to play it over the covers but did not get the best of her bat on the delivery as Amanjot Kaur who was positioned at covers put in a brilliant diving effort to grab the ball providing Wong with her second wicket of the over, that too on another full toss delivery.

Delhi Capitals will surely not be happy with their start as the team have already lost 3 wickets in the power play with just 38 runs on the board. Believe it or not, Issy Wong has been the demolisher for Mumbai Indians with the bowler bagging all three wickets, with all three wickets coming on a full toss delivery.
