The 22-year-old star batter Jemimah Rodrigues smashed brilliant 76 runs off 53 balls against Sri Lanka to win the Player of the Match award. Also, India won that game by 41 runs at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Academy Ground.

Rodrigues scored her second fifty in the ongoing tournament in the match against United Arab Emirates Women’s National Cricket Team on Tuesday, October 4.

After India lost quick wickets in the match, she stitched up a sensational 128-run partnership with Deepti Sharma. Rodrigues smashed an unbeaten 75 runs and Deepti scored 64 runs.

In the bowling rankings, all-rounder Deepti Sharma slipped one place to the No.6 position. However, she has retained her No.4 position in the rankings for all-rounders.

Talking further about Deepti, she was recently involved in a big run-out controversy, which became a hot topic of discussion for cricket fans. During the 3rd ODI of the three-match ODI series between India and England at Lord’s Cricket Ground, London on September 24, Deepti Sharma ran Charlie Dean out at the non-striker’s end.

On the 3rd ball of the 44th over of the innings, Deepti noticed Dean backing up too far at the non-striker’s end and before completing her delivery stride, she turned back and simply knocked the bails off to dismiss the English batter and bundle out England. Charlie Dean, who scored good 47 runs off 80 balls in the match, was in tears after getting run-out.
