AFG vs IRE Live Streaming In India– 2nd T20I, When and Where To Watch Afghanistan vs Ireland In India? 2024

The AFG vs IRE second T20I will be played in Sharjah on March 17. The match starts at 9.30 pm IST which is 8 pm local time. Afghanistan after the ODI series win lost the first T20I under Rashid Khan’s return to T20I captaincy.

Harry Tector’s unbeaten knock of 56 off 34 balls powered Irelan to 149/ 6 in their 20 overs. Rashid on his return took 3/19 while 19-year-old debutant Nangeyalia Kharote took two wickets.

The side lost the match by 38 runs as six other batters scored in single digits. Mohammad Nabi (25) and Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai (16 off 17) were too little in the end. Benjamin White, the Irish leggie took four wickets while Josh Little took three. 

Ireland’s first T20I win now sets up the series beautifully with Afghanistan needing to win their remaining two games to win the series. The inconsistency of the Afghan batters and their overall form in the series so far has been questionable. Gareth Delany, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Mark Adair, Josh Little, Barry McCarthy, and Craig Young have formed a good bowling core that did not allow the Afghan batters to run away with the game.  

In 24 AFG vs IRE T20I matches now Ireland have now won seven games and Afghanistan 16. They have a chance to add to the tally in the remaining two games. A few players from Afghanistan and Ireland will join their respective IPL franchises after the end of the series. 

Rashid Khan will be under pressure to deliver in the remaining two games as captain. He was out of the game for nearly six months after going through a lower-back surgery and rehabilitating. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad did not get a game in the first T20I.

Ireland is led by Paul Stirling who himself struggling with the bat. He scored 25 off 27 balls in the first T20I. He scored just 55 runs in the ODI series. Harry Tector looks like the only Irish batter in for at the moment.

 The series will be broadcast on the Eurosport channel in India. No other channel has the broadcast rights to the series. The channel will live telecast all Afghanistan matches in India until 2027.
