ILT20: Ambati Rayudu Set To Represent MI Emirates In Second Edition Of International League T20

Former Indian batter Ambati Rayudu will be part of MI Emirates for the upcoming edition of the International League T20 (ILT20). Ambati Rayudu is one of the major overseas signings by the franchise ahead of the second edition of ILT20, which is set to begin on January 13.

Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from all formats of Indian cricket after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Rayudu is currently representing the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots franchise in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Ambati Rayudu Set To Represent MI Emirates

MI Emirates took to the social media platform Twitter/X to announce the signing of Ambati Rayudu for the next season of the ILT20.

“This iconic story was never over Ambati Rayudu is ready to write yet another illustrious chapter in blue & gold,” wrote the caption.

MI Emirates Signed Eight Players

The Emirates franchise signed eight players, including Kusal Perera, Akeal Hosein, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Corey Anderson, Waqar Salamkheil, Odean Smith, and Nosthush Kenjige. Four out of the eight signings have previously represented other Mumbai Indians franchises in various leagues.

Ambati Rayudu was a part of the Mumbai Indians in the IPL from 2010 to 2017. Corey Anderson also represented MI from 2014 to 2016. Waqar Salamkheil and Odean Smith were associated with the MI Captain team in SA20 2023. Nosthush Kenjige played for the MI New York team in MLC 2023.

The franchise retained 12 players, taking their squad size to 20. Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Andre Fletcher, Muhammad Waseem, Zahoor Khan, Jordan Thompson, William Smeed, McKenny Clarke, and Daniel Mousley are part of the squad for 2024.
