Rohit Sharma's poor show with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) continued on Saturday as well during the game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens.

The former Mumbai Indians skipper came to Kolkata after being dismissed for a series of low scores in recent games. In his last five outings, he was out for single-digit scores on four occasions while scoring 11 on the other occasion.

Many were expecting him to regain his form at a venue where he has played some iconic knocks. Rohit Sharma scored his maiden IPL as well as Test century at the Eden Gardens. His monumental 264-run ODI knock against Sri Lanka also came at the same iconic venue.

However, past performances counted for little as Rohit Sharma once again failed to get going with the bat. Not only did he struggle to score big but also failed to play at a good strike rate.

While Rohit Sharma managed to touch the double-digit mark with the bat, his innings lacked impact as he scored 19 runs from 24 balls before being dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy. And as the India skipper flopped with the bat once again, his critics were quick to take shots at him.

Here are some of the reactions to Rohit Sharma's shots:

Talking about Rohit Sharma's performance in the ongoing season, he has scored 349 runs in 13 games so far including a century. With just one more league game left for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024, Rohit will be looking to finish the season strongly before he leads Team India in the all-important ICC T20 World Cup 2024 next month.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a challenging total of 157 for 6 in the allotted 16 overs against Mumbai Indians. The game was reduced to 16 overs per side after its start was delayed by almost two hours due to rain and wet outfield. In reply, Mumbai Indians were on 89 for 3 in the 12th over at the time of writing this report.
