Regular skipper Kane Williamson has been rested from the Ireland ODI series. Tom Latham is the stand-in skipper for the series. He has led the side beautifully and has registered a 2-0 lead in the series. However, the side has been tested with both batt and ball by the Irish side as well. The final ODI is an opportunity for the Kiwis to complete a series whitewash and complete a dominating performance as well. Ireland lost a T20I series against India heading into this series against New Zealand. They gave India a tough fight in the final T20I and have also done the same against the Kiwis. They have been playing some competitive cricket but are not winning games on a consistent basis. Their cricket needs to improve a lot more if they are to win against top teams more consistently. The final ODI and then the T20I series gives them an opportunity to take the Kiwis by surprise.

Ireland Squad

Andrew Balbirnie (Captain), Mark Adair, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Stephen Doheny, Graham Hume, Josh Little, Andrew McBrine, Simi Singh, Paul Stirling, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Craig Young
