After the debacle in England, it seems like the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are trying their best to prepare the team for Australia series. They are scheduling the matches as per the need to keep players in form and raring to go. In one of those, they are eyeing to send Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane for New Zealand A tour.

The series against New Zealand A will be the cue for selectors to prepare their squad for the Australian tour. With the pitches in New Zealand deliver similar goods like Australian pitches, this would be the best chance for them to test as well.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane failed to remain consistent:

The tour to New Zealand A is likely to be embedded during October-November. It will likely clash with the team India’s limited over dates with Windies cricket team. During the course, the test specialists Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane will tour New Zealand.

Meanwhile, it is also the chance for Karun Nair and Murali Vijay to show their calibre as well. As they are already out of the team, it will give them the best opportunity to get under the stamp of BCCI for the Australian tour.

Ahead of the tour, a couple of matches in Ranji Trophy will also help the cause for the players, who are fighting for a place in the Indian team. However, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out.

Rohit Sharma is in the line:

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is also in the scheme of the things for the ticket to Australia. BCCI might also ask him to travel New Zealand to show his skills in order to find a place in the Test side.

During the course, in a case of being selected for Kiwis tour, he should sacrifice his place in the limited overs for the series against Windies. All in all, it will be intriguing to see how BCCI covers all those things.
