In the ongoing sixth edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2018), an excellent batting effort from Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) helped them to beat Guyana Amazon Warriors by 67 runs at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain in Trinidad.

However, the Amazon Warriors skipper, Rayad Emrit had won the toss and elected to bowl first. The opening pair of the Knight Riders Colin Munro and Chris Lynn aimed to start their innings on a good note.

However, Sohail Tanvir picked up the wicket of Chris Lynn in the very first over of the match after scoring a golden duck. Meanwhile, first down Denesh Ramdin and Munro stand up a massive partnership of 135 runs.

After a solid show, the Knight Riders started to lose their wickets frequently. Ramdin contributed some valuable 39 runs off his bat and ended up their innings posting a target of 171 runs in front of Amazon Warriors.

Tanvir and Romario Shepherd bagged three wickets each. Munro was the major contributor for the team who scored more than half of the runs.

Furthermore, Guyana Amazon Warriors started off their innings on a poor note.

They lost their four wickets within a span of six overs adding only 33 runs on the scoreboard. However, the Knight Riders bowlers did exceptionally well and didn’t give the opportunity to build up the partnership amongst the teammates.

Moreover, Amazon Warriors batsman Jason Mohammed retained himself on the crease to add up some runs.

However, he was unable to get ample support from the other end. He scored 27 runs off his bat smashing three boundaries.

However, Roshon Primus tried to do something steady for his team scoring 36 runs including two massive sixes and three boundaries.

Furthermore, the Knight Riders bowler Ali Khan picked up three wickets to his name. Khary Pierre, Dwayne Bravo, and Fawad Ahmed each bagged with two wickets. Colin Munro was declared as the ‘Player of the Match’ for his brilliant knock.
