IND vs SL 2017: Hardik Pandya Congratulates Rohit Sharma for His Third ODI Double Century

India’s captain Rohit Sharma scored his third double hundred in ODI’s as he remained unbeaten at 208 and became the first batsman to score three double centuries and first captain to score a double ton in ODI’s. After a thumping loss in the first ODI in Dharamsala, the Indian team bounced back in tremendous fashion in the second ODI and Rohit who lost his first match as captain in Dharamsala played a perfect captain’s knock.

Rohit scored his third ODI double hundred in four years and second against Sri Lanka as India won the second ODI by 141 runs and levelled the series 1-1. Rohit’s brilliant innings included 12 mammoth sixes and 13 boundaries as he left all the Sri Lankan bowlers clueless and they had no answers to the attacking play of the Indian captain.

Rohit batted with four partners in his innings as he carried his bat in the match. Shreyas Iyer who batted for the longest period with him revealed after the match that he had the best view of the innings and loved the way Rohit was hitting the ball.

However, the luckiest out of the four batsmen were Hardik Pandya who was at the other end when Rohit completed his third ODI double hundred. A day after the match, Pandya took to Twitter to congratulate Rohit for achieving this unbelievable feat as he wrote, “Lightning does not strike twice? Well, it struck for the third time yesterday! Congratulations @ImRo45 for scoring your 3rd ODI double century. I am glad to share this special moment with you.”
