MS Dhoni has been in the firing line of many former players since his angry outburst against the umpires during the clash against Rajasthan Royals. The ever-calm MS Dhoni showed an absolutely unusual and never-seen-before facet of his personality when he marched onto the field to confront the umpires after a howler. The fate of the game was hanging by a thread when Ben Stokes came to bowl the final over.

Riding on fifties from MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu, Super Kings had recovered from 24 for 4 to bring the chase on track. The final over started with Super Kings needing 18 runs while chasing 152. The over started in the best possible manner for the Super Kings with Ravindra Jadeja somehow managing to hit Ben Stokes for a six. The next two balls went for four runs before Stokes castled MS Dhoni.

The drama unfolded soon when on the fourth delivery the main umpire signalled a no ball and then all of a sudden backed out. It led to wild scenes as MS Dhoni stormed onto the pitch to vent his anger. The Super Kings skipper was absolutely furious as the umpires tried to bring the matter under control. Fortunately, the matter came under control and Dhoni walked off.

The game then finished on a perfect note for the defending champions as Mitchell Santner hit a six on the final ball to pull off a spectacular win for his team.

Dhoni, however, has been facing the heat from all around. The IPL had docked 50 percent of his match fees but many feel it was a very lenient punishment. Dhoni’s former India teammate Virender Sehwag has now taken a sly dig at him. The former India opener cheekily said that he has never seen Dhoni so passionate while playing for India.

“Had he done this for the Indian team, I would have been happy. I have never seen him so angry during his captaincy days for the Indian team,”  Sehwag told Cricbuzz.

Meanwhile, Sehwag also said that Dhoni should have been banned for 2-3 games for his behaviour.
