Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) were up against each other in the 56th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The game between the two teams took place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (7th May). 

Delhi Capitals kept themselves alive in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They produced a magnificent effort with bat and ball and thumped a Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi to win their 6th game and bag 12 points under their belt.

Delhi Capitals were asked to bat first and they had a stellar outing with the bat against Rajasthan Royals. They entertained the crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and posted another 200+ total at their home ground. 

Jake Fraser-McGurk (50) yet again stole the limelight with his brutal batting at the top. The Australian batter came out all guns blazing and slammed another brutal half-century. Abishek Porel (65) at the top supported him well as Delhi Capitals added 60 runs for the opening partnership. 

After that, Rajasthan Royals made a strong comeback and picked quick wickets. Axar Patel (15) and Rishabh Pant (15) tried to get going but perished at the crucial juncture of the game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. They reduced the home team to 150/5. 

However, it was Tristan Stubbs (41), who made sure that he helped Delhi Capitals finish the innings on high. He was well supported by Gulbadin  Naib (19) as Delhi Capitals posted a gigantic total of 221/8 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. 

For Rajasthan Royals, Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/24. Apart from him, Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal picked one wicket each as they pulled back things well in the middle phase.

DC vs RR IPL 2024 Match 56 - Rajasthan Royals innings: Skipper Sanju Samson leads from the front but fails to take the team home

Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) perished on the second ball of the innings and after that, Jos Buttler (19) perished after a scratchy start. Rajasthan Royals were reduced to 67/2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and were under pressure. 

However, after that skipper Sanju Samson (86) played a counter-attacking innings and got some quick runs for his team. Riyan Parag (27) supported him well as the duo added 36 runs. After the latter got out, Shubham Dubey (25) played a vital inning as well. 

However, Delhi Capitals made a strong comeback with Kuldeep Yadav picking two wickets in the 18th over. They restricted Rajasthan Royals to 201 runs and won the game by 20 runs.
