While Sanju Samson loves to play aggressively with the bat, he likes to keep a cool mind whenever he is on the field. The wicketkeeper-batsman hardly loses his cool during a game.

However, he could not control his emotions after his contentious dismissal during the game between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (May 7). The Royals skipper was waging a lone battle against Delhi Capitals and was looking destined to take his team home.

Chasing 222 runs, the Royals were 162 for 3 in the 16th over with Sanju Samson batting on 86 runs from just 45 balls. However, the Royals captain had to depart before taking his team over the finishing line. On the fourth ball of the 16th over bowled by Mukesh Kumar, he hit one straight to Shai Hope at long-on.

The Royals skipper looked dejected after the catch and started walking back before being stopped by the umpires as they wanted to confirm if the catch was clean or not. Hope was very close to the boundary cushions while taking the catch and the umpires just wanted to ensure that he had not made any contact with those cushions.

The replays were not conclusive with former India batsman Navjot Singh Sidhu saying on air that Hope had touched the boundary cushions not once but twice. The RR dugout was also confident that Hope's catch was not clean and asked Samson to stay on the field.

However, the third umpire was convinced that Hope had taken the catch cleanly and gave his decision in the bowling team's favor. As soon as the giant screen showed that Samson was out, the Royals skipper lost his cool and walked up to the umpires to have a heated discussion. However, he had to walk off the field eventually.

Meanwhile, the cameras caught DC owner Parth Jindal reacting in an animated manner over the incident. Jindal was shouting 'out hai, out hai' while making hand gestures in the stands.
