The cash-rich Indian Premier League (KKR) is kicking off on April 7 in Mumbai. One of the franchises Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in its unique approach has opted for suggestions from its fan base, for the leadership role.

The fan poll started off this week on the official website which read ‘KKR Ka Captain Kaun?’. Interestingly, KKR made all of their 19 players available for the nomination.

The Kolkata-based outfit KKR took to the Twitter. The poll asked the fans to pick their respective leader for the upcoming edition.

It’s important to point out that Kolkata-based outfit is bound to announce their skipper for the season 11 on March 4.

However, the franchise took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to ask their fans who should lead the Men in Purple.

Earlier, the management of the KKR had decided against retaining the skipper Gautam Gambhir during the retention procedure on January 4 in Mumbai.

With everyone chipping valuable inputs, KKR has been working hard to settle with the capable leader this time around.

It would be interesting with the time to see the professional filling in the space of Gambhir, who has knitted the unit well in the recent past.

Sourav Ganguly picks his KKR leader:

While talking to Star Sports for its show Knight Club, the former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly maintained the new captain must be given a free hand while adding the stability is bound to play a role like the management has shown the keen interest in Gautam Gambhir in the past.

On the other side, Ganguly believes showing trust in the leader is going to offer plenty and eventually play a spectacular role.

The former left-handed batsman Ganguly added it is important to build the momentum. He added Robin Uthappa is that sort of a character who could contribute in such a race.

With Chris Lynn already out of the race, the battle is between wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik and Robin Uthappa.

Here’s is how Twittersphere reacted over the latest poll of Kolkata Knight Riders:
